TMZ founder Harvey Levin claims Britney’s backsliding

TMZ’s founder Harvey Levin and his team used a recent shopping trip by Spears to mislead the public into thinking she’s a frantic, compulsive shopper, signs that he says the conservators are seeing as little signs popping up that she’s backsliding into the crazy life. “There’s a little bit of a conundrum. She’s kind of backsliding a little bit. The thing they (the conservators) are looking at is compulsive shopping,” said Levin on TMZ TV this week.* Levin asserts that the conservatorship may end at the end of this year and that the conservators are giving Spears more freedom as they try to wean her away. While it is true that Spears recently spent $3,000 in 15 minutes, according to both TMZ and the boutique stylist who assisted Spears at...

Britney Spears’ ex-manager sues Christian publisher: libel, defamation charges threaten the religious

Spears’ ex-manager Sam Lutfi amended his complaint for libel and defamation damages to include the publisher of her mother’s book Through the Storm, A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, last Friday according to new filings at a Los Angeles County courthouse. The move came after Lynne Spears filed an appeal on Aug. 11, 2009 against a judge’s earlier decision to uphold Lutfi’s case. In short, the judge ruled that it was uncontested that Lynne had published a book, and that testimony namely by Lutfi, Adnan Ghalib, Britney’s ex-boyfriend, and Felipe Texeira, a paparazzo, established a legal basis to uphold Lutfi’s suit. Thomas Nelson, Inc. is a publisher and purveyor of Christian books such as bibles and tales of faith and...

Journalist writes grit article, no ho-hum Britney

Kudos to Canadian journalist Joanne Chianello who either ignored a Britney the Brand press release for the upcoming Circus performance or didn’t receive one. Chianello is a journalist for the Ottawa Citizen where she reminds people today that Spears is under a conservatorship, and while many fans are happy she is on tour and buying tickets, some are disappointed. ‘What they are disappointed about, is Spears’ lack of personal connection with the audience, something the singer has always been famous for. In the Citizen review of Spears’ 1999 concert, she was thought to have “an endearing personality,” and chatted up the crowd. This time around, audiences are lucky if she gives them a “What’s up (insert city name...

Adnan Ghalib’s arraignment put off

Ghalib’s plea of guilty or not has been delayed until Aug. 24 says a Los Angeles Superior Court’s media relations official. He was expected to make a formal plea today in a scheduled arraignment proceeding. Ghalib is Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend and a former paparazzo. He has been accused of trying to run over a process server according to court documents. Media relations did not release further detail. Pic source: killthelights.org Update: Video of Ghalib going to court accompanied by defense attorney Peter Korn. Tell them Ghalib first has to be arraigned and plea then comes jury selection and a trial...

Judge cancels Britney Spears’conservatorship review

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge canceled a scheduled conservatorship review case yesterday because there was nothing to talk about. The purpose of the review was to determine whether Spears could testify in a lawsuit against her by former manager Johnny Wright. That suit was settled and dismissed Jul. 9, 2009 in an Orange County, Fla. courthouse. However, the review was not taken off the calendar until yesterday or late last Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, an erroneous report by The Associated Press circled the Internet yesterday suggesting the review had been canceled due to attorneys who represent Jamie Spears in the conservatorship, being required elsewhere in proceedings involving Michael Jackson’s children yesterday. Since the Jackson case...
